Article : Dil Ki Baate Dil Hi jaane

Ram Kapoor's new show Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane's promo on TV has struck an emotional chord with viewers.

The scene has him standing a broken man before God, begging for his wife's life. He raves and rants before Lord Ram at first and eventually goes down on his knees, asking Him to spare his wife from a slow death. His wife Anandita (played by Gurdeep Punj) is terminally ill. Says a source from the set,  "Ram performed this scene which featured in the promo beautifully. He is holding on to his wife with everything he's got. It's at a point, where after fighting with the doctors, he finally stands in front of God to strike a bargain. It is heart wrenching to see the man break down and beg to make his wife healthy again.

The promo does remind people of Amitabh Bachchan's scene from Deewar. Ask Ram about the resemblance and he says, "Initially, when I was told about this promo, my first reaction was,
'Arre, it is very similar to Bachchan sahab's scene and I don't think we should try something like this.' But the channel was very convinced that it would work and so we did it. Once we got cracking, it was easy because I am quite connected emotionally to the content of this show. When you are connected emotionally, you don't have to work too hard... it kind of just happens. This character is very different from what I have ever played. I'm super excited and I feel quite honoured and lucky to have got the opportunity to play something so different and to tackle a subject like this." And how does he manage to disconnect from the character post pack-up? "That's not a problem; every actor has his own way of doing it. You have to keep your work at work and not bring it out with you," he says.                                                                                                              Source : http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tv/news/hindi/Dil-Ki-Baatein-Dil-Hi-Jaane-The-final-battle-between-Ram-and-Lord-Ram/articleshow/46493053.cms
