PART 10

I myself felt like a chaser no chaser is wrong word it shud be stalker

Okay like I was a stalker. I have don't many options. There was probably no excuse for what I was doing... i saw on wrist its now "13"....13 days now.,

that wasn't barely enough time for me to do what I needed.

All I knew about Ram so far was that his father was in jail, his little sister's father was dead,he took care of his family more than he took care of himself.

There was a lil portion of my body between 250 and 350 grams that means my heart that was trying to convince myself that Ram's father was entirely the reason as to why he was the way he was. It would be hard to a come out of the worst degree, but it seemed entirely reasonable.

i dnt know what ll i do if my father kill someone, so I couldn't exactly blame Ram. I had to know what was going on with him. How could I help Ram if I didn't even know what the problem was?

my heart again telling me, there was definitely something else going on that he wasn't too eager to admit. I felt shameless for interfering into his private life, what he obviously wanted to keep a secret, but right now I couldn't exactly find any other suitable way around it.

i open my laptop and open Google and about to type

but my finger stopped above the keys. I wasn't so sure if I could do this. But I had to. I didn't have a any choice  i sighed, I typed few words that would hopefully make this entire situation much more clearer.

  Jai Talwar Mumbai

thousand of results come up instantly wow how fast Google , and I had no idea where to start with. If I went through each result, I'd be stuck here for hours. i take a deep breath and decided to just go with the first result - what looked to be like an article from the Time(s) Of India

My 295.57 gram's heart started pounding and my palms got sweaty as the article was open up, It looked like a typical article from a newspaper, seeing the Picture in that Article my heart stop breathing for a second. In the picture a man Staring back at me from the computer screen was who looked very, very much like Ram. Or rather, Ram looked very, very much like the man

His eyes were pitch black and a pure Evilness in his eyes..

I had to back away from the desk where i kept my laptop for a few moments to get a grip on my composure.

When I calm down i back to the desk to finally read the article, I wasn't so sure if I had the enough guts to read the thing. Someone killing some one else wasn't exactly my cup of tea to read...

But I forced myself to read

  September 9, Mumbai Bandra west-

Two police officers were called to an apartment in Bandra west on a report of domestic violence on September 3 2003 . A neighbour reported hearing shouting and later rounds of gunshots. On arrival, the police discovered one of the worst crime scenes Mumbai has ever seen in nearly 15 years.

The victim, Amarnath Kapoor, 47, was found in the front room of the apartment with five bullet wounds to the chest and knife wounds on stomach. According to the official autopsy reports, Amarnath kapoor died within seconds of the attack.

Upon further investigation, it was later revealed that the attacker is the ex-husband of Amarnath' wife,Name Jai Talwar.

According to Mrs. Krishna kapoor, their family had been being harassed by Jai Talwar for several ongoing years, ignoring the court order set in place in early 2003. Amarnath Kapoor had reportedly gone to police in attempts to have Jai Talwar arrested for stalking, but nothing was done.

Jai talwar fingerprints were later found on the knife used on AK, and the police later made an arrest on September 11. and sent to jail for trail

It is expected that Jai Talwar will be convicted of first degree murder and will receive anywhere from lifetime imprisonment.

. Amarnath kapoor is survived by his wife, Krishna, their 2 unborn daughters, and his adopted son, Ram and his mother. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mumbai Police Department for exceptional services."

Tears were travelling from my eyes to cheeks once I finished the article, leaning away from the Laptop with my head in my hands.

I knew what I was going hard to read but this was far worse than what I was expecting. I couldn't believe the fact that Ram's father had killed nutz and soumya's father.

And not only that, but nutz and soumya weren't even born when their father died,

Even if I wasn't too particularly close to my father, I couldn't imagine him not being in my life.

I close my laptop and went to bed and cry yes cry like a mad....

XXXXXX

My eyes were blood red by the time I stop crying. it was only a Monday and College off for some days  so I was probably going to spend the rest of the day in home.

I lay on bed  trying not to think of anything, when I heard a little meow and felt something soft at my face.

I  open an eye and was met with the sight of a lil cat, staring at me with his big green eyes. I dont know from where this cat come to my room but when i was sad this cat automatically came to my room to cheer up my mood... I couldn't keep back a small smile as cat nudged his nose against my forehead and gave another meow.

Well, if I was home alone, at least I had a cat, right

I dragged myself out of bed, take Shower

I spent a good hour in the shower trying to calm myself

when i done i came to my closet and start searching a Classbook yes i have all my classbook since class 4.....so i thought start with class 6

I open and laugh on my writing... I flicked over to the next page and in the last page the pictures of students I saw the picture that was clearly of a 9 year old Ram.

9 year Old ram actually looked happy, since he was smiling, and he looked very similiar to how he looked now. But instead of the name Ram kapoor  being printed bottom his picture in the yearbook, it read Ram Talwar.

So that would be the reason why I hadn't know Ram and I had gone to school together since the second class. The newspaper article had said that Amarnath kapoor had been survived by his wife and adopted son, which, surprise surprise, was Ram. Ram's last name must've not been changed at least until he done middle school

"You're five minutes early. What's up with that?"

that was Ram typical Ram asked me

I gave Ram a withering look as I made my way behind the front counter at Kapoor Caffe. Ram was standing at attention by the register, leaning up against the wall with his arms crossed.

"Do you have problem with that" i replied back looking at down not able to meet eyes with him

if I could even make eye contact with Ram and not blurt out that I knew what had happened to his step Papa. I knew that he wouldn't be very happy with me if he found that out.

now that surprise me Ram followed after me as I walked through the kitchen,

"What are you doing?" I asked, not looking back at him.

Ram didn't answer.

I slipped off my sweater  and hung it up on the hanger with my bag, and just about I turned around and came face-to-chest with Ram.

"What are you doing?" I said in high-pitched voice.

Ram caught me completely by pushing me up against the nearest wall, putting both of his hands beside my face as he leaned towards me.

"You know, I expected better of you, Priya," he said, his lips turned down in an inquisitive expression.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"what are u doing .... You're really going to act afraid around me, like you're worried about I'm going to suddenly murder you like my father?"

if u are at my place you slap him on his face but apparently my subconscious thought give me idea to do something completely opposite of that.

that is I reached out and wrapped my arms around Ram and hugged him as tightly as possible.

I expected Ram to start yelling, but he didn't. He froze against me, his arms hanging at his sides.

"You're an jerk Ram, you know," I mumbled into his chest. "I'd never do that to you. You don't deserve it."

What the hell i blurted i have no command on my Tongue i said to myself

"What are you doing, Priya?" he asked

"Hugging you, ," I answered, feeling embarrassed and  my face turn red. "The least you could do is hug me back."

he snorted out a huge laugh. But much to my surprise, Ram actually wrapped his arms around me, a bit hesitantly, but he was still returning the hug.

Now the truth is, I liked hugging Ram. Ram smelt really, really good - he had smoky, minty sort of scent - he was really warm, and he was a tad bit more muscular than I'd pegged him for. It was a teddy bear hug

It was Embarrassing to admit that I could've happily stayed there for a while, hugging Ram like this but it was ridiculous  to think that it was going to last for very long.

"Come on," he said after a few moments. "We have to get to work." .

I take  back a few steps into the wall. "Right you're right. Work. Right."

Ram rolled his amazing eyes and gave me a look. "Get your act together, priya. I'd rather you not dump hot water all over me , thanks."

 "Oh, shut up ram

Now i m relief that Things were back to normal after hug after Ram's this water taunt..

"Oh, and btw... I've been ordered to invite you to dinner with my family on Thursday."

I stopped in my way out of the kitchen Ram walking behind me.

this is Great. Just great. i thought This was just another thing I had to look forward to...

2 Days Later

Wednesday

There were a lot of things that surprised me in my life, and my new surprise when

I woke up in the morning and saw my parents at home. I rarely ever saw my parents  they went to work before i woke up and come late night - so it was certainly shocking to see them so unexpectedly.

"good morning Maa Papa," I said awkwardly,

Maa and Papa were both seated at the dining room table, coffee cups in their hands.

"Morning, beta," Maa said crisply, turning the page in newspaper

"Hello Priya." papa greeted me in a much more cheerful mood

" what are you both still doing here?" I asked slowly You're usually gone by now."

Papa nodded,. "You're right. Your mummy and I are going on a business trip to Pune this afternoon ."

Well, I certainly hadn't been expecting to hear that.

"Why would Maa and you have a business trip together?" I said, "You're a lawyer, and her a totally different business."

"Your Papa's firm and my client are working on a fraud case together," Maa answered

.

 "Oh," I said. "Right."

I took a seat at the table across from Maa, next to Papa

"I hope you can manage that we'll be out of town," Maa said, her attention still fixed on her newspaper.

 "yes," I said... "I'm fine."

"So shanta Bai ll be for make ur meal and Tommrow A small party at Khurana's Home u ll going there okay  ."

"No, ," I said slowly. "I've, uh, actually been invited to dinner at a friend's place tomorrow."

"Neha's?" Papa asked, sipping at his coffee.

"No." at. "My boss'." i replied slowly

maa turned around her neck wo watch me and Papa actually spat out a bit of his coffee

"Your boss?" Papa repeated. "You have a boss?"

. "Yes. I meant to tell you both earlier. I got a job."

"You got a job," Maa said "Why on Earth would you get a job?"

I shrugged. "Why not? I won't spend all of my time in the home now. It's actually a very nice place."

"Well, where do you work?" Maa asked,

"Kapoor's Coffee House cum restaurant ," I answered.

Maa had no idea where the place was.

"Kapoor's Coffee House," he said again, frowning. "Who owns that place?"

"Krishna Kapoor and her son ram kapoor," I babbled without thinking.

Maa continued to look very duped, while Papa's eyes widened as he nearly choked on his coffee again.

"Krishna Kapoor? Is that the same  woman whose ex-husband - "

"Yes," I said cutting him off. "She's a super gr8 woman

"How do you know Krishna Kapoor?" Papa asked after a moment,

"I go to college with her son, Ram," I said. "We're friends."

"And you just decided to do a job there?" Papa said,. "You do know what happened to that family?"

Of course I know. But that doesn't mean anything, Papa. They're good people., Krishna aunty offered me the job. I didn't ask for it."

"You hardly need a job, Priya," Maa cut in, folding her hands together. "Your Papa and I give you more than enough to get anything you want. I don't see why you - "

"It's better than being alone all of the time, Maa!" I was much shouting at the my parents now, I'd never talked back to Maa Papa before,. "I don't think you both realize just how much you're never here.and how you feel when u live alone in home Have a good business trip. and yes i ll keep to my curfew, so you don't need to worry. Happy journey."

  I left the dining room

I slammed my bedroom door shut behind me. Not only did I have enough troubles with Ram alone, now I was having problems with my parents, too

I dont have work until noon, and then My cat again here to cheer me up

 "Hi, Priya Di!"

soumya came sprinting over to me she threw her arms around my me in a tight hug. "Hey, soumya," I said with a laugh. "What's up?"

"Priya di!"

soumya didn't get a chance to answer, as twine  sister nutz came running over to throw their arms around me in an even bigger hug..

"All right, girls," KK's familiar voice cut in over our loud giggling. "Let Priya go."

"Priya needs to work."

Somehow I managed to hang up my bag on the hanger  but both girls ddnt leave me

"Nutz, soumya What the hell are you doing?"

I saw Ram sauntering through the kitchen, his hair wet and messy, looking as if he'd just come out of the shower.

"Just...cuddling with Priya Di !" nutz chirped,

Ram raised an eyebrow, his face expressionless. ", okay, not anymore you're not. Get off her."

both girl listened to Ram more than their own mother. I wasn't sure why, but it was rather interesting.

 "okk Aww, fine..." soumya pouted,.

"Oh, don't be so dramatic, lil brat," ram said, reaching down to ruffle her hair as he passed her. "We're all going supermarket for shopping later, so save ur love for later

"We're going for shopping?" I repeated, giving an Ram a look.

Ram smirked. "You heard me, Priya. Maa  and Dadi can hardly cook for all of the people coming over tomorrow with just what's here, so we're going to supermarket."

"Forgive me," I said, holding up my hands in defeat.

"No," he replied. "Now get to work."

"Main chahti hoon ki tum dono list me likhi sabhi chize le aayo samze tum (I need you two to get all of these things on this list do you understand?)" Dadi ordered,

"Yes, ," Ram deadpanned at the same time I said formally, "Of course, Dadiji."

"Aur Dono 8 bje ke phale hi aajana (I want you back here before eight, too)," Dadi added sternly. Or beta tum apni choti behno ko bhi lekar Jaa rahe ho so dhyan rakhna kuch hona nahi chahiye ("You're taking your little sisters with you, boy, so I'm expecting nothing to happen to them.")

"Main baccha nahi hu dadi (I m not child Dadi?" Ram said, rolling his eyes. "Of course I'm going to take care of them."

"Keep him in line Priya," she continued, pointing a finger at me. Ye Ram samzata hai i sab janta par ise kuch nahi pata ("He thinks he knows everything, but he doesn't." )

maa ram ab bada ho gaya hai wo sambhal lega (Mom ram is now grown up he ll handle )

ye Ram bewkoof hai pura aur jo aankho ke saamne hai wahi dekhta hai tujhe tere liye esi ladki dhundni hogi jo tujhe  line pe rakhe warna teri shadi bhawan bharose hi hai aur tere bacche tujhe pyar nahi karenge "(Ram is  stupid and only see what's right in front of him. Ram You'd better find a woman who knows how to keep you in line, otherwise your marriage only depends on God and your children ll nt love you.)

My face became bright red as Dadi spoke

"Okay, first of all, Dadi," Ram said, his voice very exaggerated. Aapse kisne kaha main shadi karne ja raha hu  and mujhe bacche nahi chahiye ("Who said I was going to get married? And I sure don't want any kids)

Sharam kar apni choti behno ke samne ese baat karta hai  Dadi said

lil girls giggling...

"We...we should go now," I said, clearing my throat. "It's a already 5pm."

accha beta jao dadi said and sambhal ke rehna she added

"So, where are we going?" soumya asked cheerily, clutching at my hand as we stepped outside.

"XYZ supermarket," nutz chirped in response.

Ram informed us that supermarket was only a few blocks over, so we were going to be walking instead of taking the auto or bus.

Soumya demanded to be picked up by Ram, which made Ram very annoyed. He scooped up soumya into his arms

"All right," Ram sighed, with the grocery list in his hands.

"I'm going to give you a list of the things that you're going to get, Ms Sharma, while I take these brats with me."

"Hey!" nutz piped up. "We are not brats!"

"Sure, sure," Ram replied airily, waving a hand.

get what's on that list," he ordered me. "And meet me at the front counter in half an hour."

I snapped a military salute, looking as serious as I could manage. "Yes sir, sergeant RAM Kapoor Sir

Ram rolled his eyes, looking very mad. "Piss off, Priya Shrama."

"Only if you do, sweet cheeks," I said with a smirk, going off to go grab a cart or trawly for keeping items

I look the grocery list with narrowed eyes start collecting thing by  different section

i was in tea section managed to locate the right tea.

 "Well, hello, Priya Sharma."

I shocked and almost scream a familiar person standing beside me,

"Yam?" . "What the hell are you doing here?"

Yam smiled

"I just thought I'd check up on you," Yam answered. "See how you were doing all that it."

I set the packet of tea down in the cart before I turned back to him

"I thought you weren't allowed to help me," I said giving my point. "Why would you come and see how I'm doing?"

"You have only 11 days, Priya sharma," he finally said after a moment, crossing his arms over his chest. "I trust you are well aware of this arent you ???."

I tapped my wrist with a finger, glaring at him. "yes i knw."

Yam sighed, a serious look coming over his face that I hadn't ever seen before,

"Do you know what you're getting yourself into, Priya Sharma?" he said in a quiet voice.

I said in confusion. "What are you talking about Yam?"

"I think you know what I'm talking about," Yam replied

I stared at him, a blank look on my face. "No. I don't,."

Yam rubbed a hand across his jaw,

"okay perhaps you shd think back to the realization that you came to the some other night ."

"Excuse me?" I said  "W- -What are y-you talking about?"

Yam smirked. "There you go. Now you remember what i m trying to say, don't you?"

"But...I thought you said me that you couldn't read minds!" I reminded him

"Oh, I can't," he replied me quickly.

"But there's a so much difference between reading mind and reading  facial features."

"I can tell that your feelings for Ram Kapoor are a little more than just for a friend," Yam said,. "And while my work has nothing to do with love, I know what happens because of it."

My heart beat start fastly Yam didn't seem like to screw somebody over on something like this, but I still couldn't help but feel very afraid.

"What do you mean?" I said slowly,

Yam took a step forward, closing the distance between us and said "Think about what you're doing, Priya Sharma. You may not know it yet, but you will know in enough time, and I'm not so sure how it's going to turn out for you. The return of your actions might be more than you bargained for."

I sucked a deep breath, i clutched tightly at the wheel cart to keep myself steady. I wanted to to know why the hell now he was bringing this up, after I'd already been on the job for just about 9 days.

"Look, Yam, I'm not so sure you even kn-"

 "Oye! Priya!"

"What the hell are you doing, just standing around here, Priya?" Ram snapped when he came to a stop beside me. "I told you to meet me at the front counter, like, ten minutes ago."

I ignored Ram, staring at Yam, trying to figure out his facial expression to see if something bad was going to happen because Ram was right by us, and he was supposed to be dead.

"Well?". "Want to tell me anything else while?"

Yam smirked, his eyes fixed on Ram as spoke. "no, I think I've told you everything I can, Priya Sharma. Happy DinnerNight."

Yam walked out of sight with his hands  in his pockets

 "Priya?"

I turned back to Ram,. "What?"

"You want to tell me who that was?" Ram asked,

"Just...just a friend of the family," I said,

I left Ram standing there in the tea section, try to not to break down sobbing in the middle of Supermarket...

Because I had a feeling that things were about to get much more complicated.
